Young Arizona 1943

We wish to thank Lee Hanchett for identifying the Tewksbury cabin. As the author of Arizona’s Graham-Tewksbury Feud I am indebted to him for his expertise. Click here for a link to his book and the documentary film.

Francis Line made a trip to Young, Arizona, when he shot “Sheep, Stars, and Solitude”. Three years ago Grace and I made a trip to Young and saw this store as it stands today.  Back in 1943 it was a gas station; a store; and a meeting place for area residents. In our Image Gallery we have some more pictures of Young as it was when Line visited.

Helen Line grew up on a ranch in Globe, AZ.  Read a story about her family in one of our other articles called ‘No Pie In Pietown’.
